Do you ever look at the Project Kits that come out and think,”That is cute, and I like this and that piece of the kit, but I won’t use the completed project when I’m done.” I was like that with the Hello Life project kit, until recently when I saw the idea to turn it not into a wall hanging, home décor piece; but instead combine it with notecards to make a really stinkin’ cute card set. So, I threw together a class on it last weekend and loved the results so much I wanted to share so you had a chance to make it too if you love them before the Hello Life Project Kit sells out (since it is on the retiring list)
Here is one of my favorite cards that we made in the class:
I think my favorite part is the cool “bird’s nest” element that is in the middle of card! It just adds such a pretty texture and was easy to make too! All you have to do is take the thick twine that is included in the project kit and pull apart the three threads that are twisted together to make up a piece of the twine.
Once you have the three threads, loosely loop them in a circle and tack down to the black square using a little big of SNAIL adhesive on each side beneath where the sentiment will go. (So you’ll have two little spots of adhesive). That helps hold the twine in place generally, and when you add the sentiment up on Stampin’ Dimensionals, that works at the additional lock to hold everything down. And the loose threads just look awesome!
So, this is what the Hello Life kit looks like if you make it as-is in the package…
And here are a bunch of cards you can make instead! Note – if you see the fox post-it notes in the pictures, that is how I indicated in class that you make TWO of that card design. Here are the extra supplies you need to make these cards (see the bottom of the post for links to these items in the online store):
- Whisper White notecards & envelopes
- Crushed Curry cardstock
- Crushed Curry ink
- Memento Black ink
- Stampin’ Dimensionals
- Fine-tip Glue pen
- Your favorite sentiment stamps

So, do you have a favorite card from the set? I’d love to hear which is yours! And the best part is, because you are using pieces of the kit along with precut & scored notecards, the amount of prep work and cutting is pretty small! Perfect for those of you who don’t want to have to do much thinking at the same time you want to craft. Just make sure to grab the kit before the end of May at which point it will be discontinued!
