Feel Goods Sunday–A Fun Flower Card

Sometimes you just need a pretty card on your Sunday. This is my contribution to that effort!

I was playing with the idea of doing a triple time stamping card… you know, like this one:

Where you stamp with an extra layer over your cardbase… I have the instructions for this technique written out on this blog post here.

So, I did the same thing with this card. I used the Bloom for You Stamp set in a variety of colors (these were Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive, and Crisp Cantaloupe). Then I stamped around the edge of my Whisper White cardbase with an extra piece of Whisper White cardstock in the middle while I was stamping.

I was going to add a solid colored mat behind that middle Whisper White piece and then add a plain whisper white piece to the center, but when I pull it up, I loved the blank space in the middle of the card and how the flowers made a pretty frame! So I went a different route!

I stamped my sentiment from the Feels Good stamp set in the corner and then to help make the edges more defined, I grabbed my Old Olive Stampin’ Write marker and did some doodling/faux stitching around the inside. Turned out to be a great subtle touch.

Finally the last touch it needed was just one more flower, only this time, taking advantage of the fact that you can punch out different parts of the flower and it layers really well! I stamped it in Hello Honey and punched it out. Then punched out a 7/8” scallop circle from Crisp Canteloupe cardstock, then stamped again on scrap paper with Hello Honey and punch out the center with the 3/4” circle punch. Add an Antique Brad to the center and a few Stampin’ Dimensionals and it looks great!
